Ka Seng Kut Snem of Seng Khasi to remember the day when
Seng Khasi was formed and it is being celebrated as
a day when the members of the Seng Khasi and in fact,
it should be the whole Khasi community to show case
the Khasi culture in all its richness. It is a day to
be remembered with gratitude to those great thinkers
who formed the Seng Khasi and its presence was responsible
for our present position as a community who continues
to uphold it own rich culture and identity.

Ka Pomblang Nongkrem is celebrated every
year at Smit the seat of Khyrim Syiemship. This year
the celebration started on 18th November till 22nd November
2010. It is a time when the subjects (Ki Khun Ki Hajar)
will come to pay respect to the Syiem. It is a time
for prayer and divination. It is time for celebration
for the entire Hima Khyrim and the best part of the
celebration is by show casing the dance in all its richness.

Autumn Festival organised by
the Meghalaya Tourism Department Forum under the Chairmanship
of R.G. Lyngdoh concluded on 20th November 2010 at Umïam
Lake Resort. The organisers did their best to bring
talents from all over North-East and from the State
as well. Well done MTDF. May tourism become a reality
in every sense and may the beauty of Meghalaya attract
a large number of tourists from our Country and from
other Countries as well.

National Assessment and Accreditation
Council visited St. Mary’s College, Laitumkhrah,
Shillong for re-assessment and re-accreditation from
18th – 20th November, 2010. St. Mary’s College
is run by the RNDM missionary’s sisters. The College
started in 1937.

in different parts of the State of Meghalaya are appearing
for their final examinations. We wish them well and
may they come out with flying colours.
